An extended forecast of dry weather and concern expressed by the public in the aftermath of the Butte Fire have prompted Eldorado National Forest to put fire restrictions back into effect beginning Oct. 16.

Fire restrictions for recreational use will not affect the forest prescribed fire program.

Campfires will still be allowed in some developed recreation sites. These sites are listed online.
