Forecasters were right — 2-3 inches fell at lake level overnight.

Despite the gray skies first thing this morning, the weather guys say to expect a sunny day. Winter could return Friday night — just as everyone gets all dolled up for the annual Soroptimist wine event at Harrah’s Tahoe.

Sierra-at-Tahoe’s annual Pray for Snow Party is tonight at 7 at Murphy’s Irish Pub on Emerald Bay Road in South Lake.

Kirkwood’s party is at McP’s pub near Stateline on Nov. 19.
