From South Tahoe High School’s Frank Kovac, “Assuming you’ll be in South Lake Tahoe (today) and assuming the skies are clear, we have a great opportunity to view NASA’s International Space Station at 5:09pm. No binoculars or telescopes necessary. It will appear as a bright light traveling at about the speed of an airplane (but it does not have any blinking lights). It will fly practically over our heads through the center of the sky. It’s orbiting at about 205 miles altitude and moving at over 17,000 miles per hour. P.S. Even cooler: I just noticed the Space Shuttle will appear in the sky about a minute behind the ISS.”
