Caution: Sierra lakes not solid ice

El Dorado Irrigation District officials caution wintertime visitors to be careful if they venture onto the ice at Echo, Silver or Caples lakes.
The district’s winter drawdown of the lakes is in effect, which means water levels under the ice will fluctuate, creating potentially dangerous conditions.
