Kollar sworn in as sheriff

Fred Kollar was sworn in as sheriff of El Dorado County on Dec. 28. El Dorado County Superior Court Judge Suzanne Kingsbury did the honors.

Kollar, who has been undersheriff for the past seven years, is filling out the remainder of Jeff Neves term which expires in a year.

The primary election for sheriff will be in June. If no one wins outright, a runoff will be conducted in November. Kollar is not running and expects to retire when a new sheriff comes on board.
