• One of two drive-through car washes in South Lake Tahoe has what looks to be yellow crime tape keeping people off the property. But no crime has occurred. City officials haven’t heard a word from the operators nor did they have a contact number for the business.
• Melody Rebbeck has joined the Tahoe Maritime Museum in Homewood as exhibits and marketing associate.
• Longtime manager of Raley’s at the Y in South Lake Tahoe Bob Lear is now running the Carson City store. Seth McGrath took Lear’s place.
• NV Energy Inc. (locally known as Sierra Pacific Power) needs a CFO. Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer William D. Rogers resigned this month.
• The Food Bank of Northern Nevada, which helps those in need on both sides of the South Shore, was one of 26 to receive the national Victory Against Hunger Award. The honor is for its efforts to end hunger, and improve nutrition and health.
• Kohl’s Department Stores Inc. bought the former Mervyn’s location in Carson City for $4 million. Mervyn’s closed in 2008. Kohl’s could open this year.
