Heavenly, Diamond Peak eager to begin construction

The summer construction season doesn’t look very promising in the Truckee Meadows, but two Lake Tahoe-area ski resorts will build facilities this summer.

Construction of a new lodge at the top of Heavenly Mountain Resort’s gondola is expected to begin by mid June, and Diamond Peak Ski Resort will start construction of a new skier services building on May 1.

The 14,720-square-foot lodge at Heavenly will be a year-round facility housing food and beverage services and restrooms, says Casey Blann, vice president of mountain operations. Currently there is no indoor seating at the

    I hope local general contractors are at least being considered for both of these jobs, and that locals will be providing the skilled labor.

    Oh, and at least the artists rendering is not very attractive, looks like a super large lean-to, maybe it will look better in person ;)

    You’re right ,that’s one ugly Lodge,reminds me of high school drafting 101.

    When I look at the architect design at Kirkwood ,this looks Real flaky and I don’t mean snow.

    Doesn’t fit the Heavenly Village design at all.
    Maybe after they selling million $11.00 hamburgers,$9.00 brews, they be able to do some rock work try fake a Aspen Design.
