Property tax scam warning in El Dorado County

El Dorado County residents are being advised to beware of mailers offering to reduce property taxes for a fee.
County Assessor Tim Holcomb said property owners can obtain the same tax relief without a fee by contacting the Assessor’s Office.
The latest mailer, from Property Tax Assessor Records Corp., offers to help homeowners obtain a homeowner’s exemption or value review, according to an Assessor’s Office news release.
