El Dorado sheriff’s candidates sharpen focus for November
By Carlos Alcalá, Sacramento Bee
The El Dorado County sheriff’s election runoff between John D’Agostini and Craig Therkildsen will offer much clearer alternatives than the primary.
With a half-dozen candidates and a welter of issues – gangs, budgets, concealed weapons, patrol strategies and more – primary voters needed a spreadsheet to keep things straight.
D’Agostini and Therkildsen, however, offer distinct – if not opposing – visions in the runoff.
I recall months of my blasting that good old Boy Hal Barker, using my name. The ruling party and the BOS made sure Hal Barker was appointed Foreman of the 95/96 do nothing Grand Jury. At the same time he was running for Sheriff. I still have a five page leaked summary of Barkers reign as foreman, one of the most telling of dirty Grand Jury politics. Barker moved on to a one term Sheriff. The disparaging comments concerning Therkildsen in the Sac Bee have no credibility. The use of a fictious name is that of, no facts. If you have facts and comment under your name you better have back up to prove what you say.I Know Hal fliped when i exposed his “Romance That Led To Extortion Plot” Ryleen Smith was on the payroll, any one know where she is today?
