Intense sailing photograph brings Tahoe City man recognition

Tahoe City photographer Steve Lapkin has spent most of his life fascinated by boats and water, and that fascination has paid off with two prize-winning entries in Sailing World magazines’s winter photo contest.

Sailing World is a seasonal publication that focuses on the sport of sailing with an emphasis on performance sailing. The contest drew more than 500 submissions with racing images from around the world. Lapkin’s photos took first and third place.
