Planes collecting climate data in Sacramento region

A Gulfstream airplane will make low-level flights over the Sacramento region this month to collect data for a U.S. Department of Energy climate study.

Researchers from the department’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Wash., will lead the study, coordinating air and ground operations at three locations. Participating scientists come form several of the Department of Energy’s national laboratories, NASA and the University of California, Davis, as well as other academic and research institutions.
