Fireworks illegal in El Dorado County

The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department would like to remind you the sale, possession or discharge of all fireworks, including safe and sane, are prohibited in all portions of El Dorado County.

Even though the Tahoe basin experienced significant precipitation over the winter, the chances of a damaging wildland fire from illegal fireworks is extreme. Remember that you can be cited for using fireworks in El Dorado County and you can also be held liable for the cost of fighting any fires that you or your children start.

There will be a public fire works display at 9:45pm July 4 for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Please be careful, be responsible and enjoy your Independence Day.

    That goes for out on the lake,I saw a guy shoot a flare gun that resulted in a sail boat sail catching on fire couple years ago,the fire got put out but the Rage of a fist fight was hotter than hell out there.
