Law enforcement agencies throughout the Lake Tahoe Basin will be beefing up patrol during the holiday weekend.

There will be a sobriety checkpoint from 8pm-1am today by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

Saturation patrols will be out Saturday-Monday. Extra DUI roving patrols will be assigned by police in South Lake Tahoe and Placerville. El Dorado County sheriff’s deputies will staff extra DUI units in the South Lake Tahoe to support that police department.

California Highway Patrol maximum enforcement period is from 6 tonight through midnight Monday.
