Players in the Dugard case

Jaycee Lee Dugard, born May 3, 1980, was 11 years old and attending Meyers Elementary School in South Lake Tahoe when she was abducted at 8 a.m. June 10, 1991. Dugard allegedly had two daughters by Phillip Garrido, who authorities said kidnapped her. The girls are now 15 and 12. Dugard and her daughters live in Southern California with her mother, Terry Probyn, and stepsister. She released a video in March saying she appreciated the support she has received and that she’s doing well. She reportedly is working on her GED, has a driver’s license and plans to go to college.
Phillip Garrido was born April 5, 1951, in Pittsburg and graduated from Lincoln Union High School in 1969. He was a musician. He used drugs, LSD in particular, in excess. He moved to Reno in 1971 and was married in 1973 to a dealer at a local casino. His first wife divorced him in 1980 after his conviction for kidnapping and rape. He ran a business-card printing company in Antioch, Calif. He also ran an organization called “God’s Desire” and a website called “Voices Revealed.” He said he could “speak in the tongue of angels” and control voices “that are unearthly in nature.”
