• Cynthia Knight and Dave Klecker on Labor Day weekend are opening The Rural Squirrel in the old Insty Prints building on Highway 50 in South Tahoe. They will be selling furniture, antiques and cabin-esque home décor.

• The League to Save Lake Tahoe this week presented what would be a fifth alternative to the Regional Plan — the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency’s bible that was supposed to come out in 2007.
