MontBleu hires GM with marketing background
Jef Bauer is MontBleu casino’s new general manager.
Before taking the job at the Stateline casino, Bauer was vice president and general manager of Golden Casino Group in Black Hawk, Colo., where he was responsible for overseeing all three of Golden’s casinos – Golden Mardi Gras, Golden Gates and Golden Gulch. The combined enterprise operated 1,200 slot machines, 25 table games, a 20-table poker room, three restaurants, six bars and 450 employees.
Prior to joining Golden Casino Group, Bauer worked for Majestic Star Casinos, LLC and as executive director of marketing for Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Casino. Bauer began his career at Harrah’s Reno in 1987 and worked his way from operations positions into corporate leadership roles for Harrah’s Entertainment, working as the company’s marketing communications director and opening several riverboat and tribal gaming casinos throughout the 1990s.
This guy’s got some good experience in the area and field. Hopefully he’ll be given the budget and power to help the Mont Bleu be more successful.
WELCOME TO TAHOE JEFF.
THE SHOWROOM IN YOUR CASINO HAS POTENTIAL FOR SOME GREAT MUSIC EVENTS. AS A LONG TIME LOCAL, WE HAVE ALL MISSED THE SHOWS AT CAESARS TAHOE.
IT IS A GREAT VENUE AND IT SEEMS THAT SINCE THE RECESSION AND montbleu TAKING OVER THE SHOWS HAVE DIMINISHED.
IN MY OPINION, WE COULD HELP OUR LOCAL ECONOMY BY HOSTING MORE MUSIC. HOPEFULLY, YOUR BOSS WILL READ THIS
WE NEED MORE MUSIC IN SOUTH SHORE!
THE CITY OF SLT IS MISSING THE BOAT. HAS ANYBODY BEEN TO COMMONS BEACH IN TAHOE CITY. GOOD MUSIC, GOOD BIZ!
WE CAN RE BUILD THIS CITY WITH ROCK AND ROLL…..
Actually, as a music venue I always preferred Harrah’s. The way the old Caesar’s/Park Tahoe was set up with the long cocktail tables set perpendicular to the stage always left me with a crick in my neck from craning sideways. HATED that! But it IS a nice room if they’d change the seating.
Is it our biggest indoor venue? Seats 1500.
i am an employee for montbleu and jef is doing a wonderful job as gm and is a great guy to talk too
Will he rehire Tom Davis ???
Not just music from the Caesars of old: outdoor events – boxing, tennis; real NY Eve’s planned parties (not the free for all outside); entertainers here for more than one night. Summer’s had only maybe one day/night to turn the showroom around for the next performer.
Figure out a way to bring back some qualtiy acts and maybe some quality visitors will come back too.
