Vail Resorts Inc. is getting into the lodging business in South Lake Tahoe.
The Broomfield-based company (NYSE: MTN), which owns four Colorado ski resorts and the Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe announced Tuesday that it has acquired Accommodation Station, the third-largest property management company in the South Lake Tahoe market. Privately owned Accommodation Station manages condominiums, mountain chalets, cabins and luxury homes for short- and long-term rentals.
Vail Resorts owns or manages slopeside lodging already around its Colorado resorts — Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone and Beaver Creek — and in Jackson Hole, Wyo. But this is the company’s first lodging collection in South Lake Tahoe.
