Gibbons remains hospitalized; improving

Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons continues to improve from injuries and surgery after a horse riding accident on Sept. 21.

The governor’s prognosis for a full recovery remains excellent, according to his surgeon. The governor was moved Monday from his hospital room to another part of Renown Regional Medical Center that specializes in rehabilitation.

The medical experts have determined that the governor’s injuries have healed enough to allow for more active rehabilitation which will eventually lead to his release from the hospital and his return to the governor’s mansion. Doctors say no timetable has been set for the governor’s release.

The governor continues to receive briefings from senior staff and state department heads about state issues and other matters several times a day.
