Incline woman pleads not guilty in N.J. court; out on bail

SOMERVILLE, N.J. — Nancy Dunsavage Fiedler, who was missing for 26 years after she left New Jersey with her daughter in the middle of a custody dispute, is free on $2,500 bail after she pleaded not guilty to a charges of interfering with custody and contempt of court.

In a brief appearance Friday before Superior Court Judge John Pursel, Fiedler, 57, who was extradited from Nevada, made the plea before a packed courtroom that included her 31-year-old daughter and new son-in-law.

Somerset County Assistant Prosecutor Timothy Van Hise asked Pursel to set Fiedler’s bail at $25,000, saying Fiedler had shown “utter and complete disregard for the law” by leaving New Jersey.

But Somerville attorney James Wronko, who is representing Fiedler, said that she had not been aware of the charge against her.
