vote• Ballots for those who vote by mail in California have been sent out for the Nov. 2 election. In El Dorado County, that is 62.8 percent of registered voters and in Placer County it is 56 percent of registered voters.

    Kae. is that 62.8% county wide average higher or lower in south lake tahoe? I received my ballot yesterday and will probably send in quickly. Wonder if what the candidates state from here forward will really matter. Could be people won’t wait to hear much more. A lot of campaign dollars could be ill spent for only 38 % of the voters.

    According to the El Dorado County Elections Department, 60.82 percent of the voters in the basin are registered permanent absentee, or vote by mail. On the West Slope the percentage is 49.67.
