Opinion: What works to stop bullying

By Steve Johnson

We’ve had a year of polarized debate about bullying. On one side we have those who believe the bullying that resulted in the suicide of Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi is a form of anti-gay discrimination and that those who disagree are homophobes. On the other side are those who are convinced that liberals and gay rights groups are advancing some kind of “homosexual agenda” under the guise of an anti-bullying curriculum.

One thing is clear: We’re not going to stop bullying in our schools until we stop bullying each other over how to address the problem. Let’s make a New Year’s pledge to talk about bullying the way we’d like to see our kids talk to each other. Let’s focus on proven strategies that can accomplish what all people of goodwill want: an end to the harassment of vulnerable children.

Here’s what we know works to reduce bullying in schools:

— Educating, not just punishing, the perpetrators

— Training bystanders to be allies of the victim

— Not allowing the isolation or taunting of any child for any reason.

Rule of life, treat people the way you want be treated.
Bulling is a form of hate, someone always has to take out their bummers on someone else. They figure if they are bummed out the whole world has to be too!

    Rich ,Poor,Religious,all races,are not exempt.

This is a part the savage that still lives in all people brains(DNA) can’t be removed.A natural part of the human evolution that never been breed out.
If so, their would be no wars, killing, jealousy, rapes or power trips, humans so adore, but refuse to admit.
No one wants to be called loser, even if you are one,you can be a success with wealth, but a loser of what life’s all about.
Happiness is in the eye of the beholder.
Somewhere, everywhere, this will go on as long as there are people.
It’s your choice on how deal with it,shy away or fight, ignore, about the only three choices you have.(revenge kills you,or puts you in prison for life, makes you very unhappy, useless for all your God given days).

I’ve been knocked down ,beat up,loved, spit on,mocked, all in the same day.
The human emotion chain is a very delicate trans-session of who you ARE.
