Midas revokes S. Tahoe franchise, 4 others

Five Midas stores in the Reno-Tahoe area and one in Northern California recently lost their franchises and were forced to close their doors.

Two of the six stores are in Reno, one is in Sparks, one is in Carson City, one in South Lake Tahoe and one is in Placerville.

All of the outlets were owned by Mallard Group Ltd., which could not be reached for comment.

“That would have been in mid-December,” said Bob Troyer, director of corporate affairs for Midas, of the closings. “We terminated the franchise we had in place, and we terminated the relationships with that franchise.”
