Report: Early childhood education helps economy
By Michael Martinez, Reno Gazette-Journal
A report that outlines the economic value of early childhood education was unveiled this week by staff from the Children’s Cabinet and school district officials.
Mike Pomi, Children’s Cabinet executive director, and others from the nonprofit group were joined by Washoe County schools Superintendent Heath Morrison and school district Trustee Estela Gutierrez and Gov. Brian Sandoval at the governor’s mansion in Carson City.
The report attempts to describe how the early childhood education industry has become a significant component of Nevada’s economic infrastructure and helps drive the economy, providing financial benefits in three primary ways.
