Body of skier found at Sugar Bowl

The body of a California skier missing since Monday was found Tuesday on a run at the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies and Ski Patrol members had been searching late Monday and early Tuesday for John Hoffman, 58, of Oakland, who was reported missing by his wife at 10:30pm Monday.

Hoffman was an expert skier and often went to Lake Tahoe area ski resorts, deputies said.
