Deputies pulled the two over at 2:45am in Cameron Park near Bass Lake and Green Valley roads.
The deputy identified both subjects determined Xeng Vue was on probation for stolen property, specifically catalytic converters.
Deputies conducted a probation search of the vehicle and located a pipe cutter and other tools which could be used to cut and remove catalytic converters from vehicles. In the trunk was a catalytic converter, deputies said.
Vue and Thao Xioong were arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and conspiracy to commit grand theft.

At over $1750 an ounce for platinum, I guess they might get around $100 per converter.
