Bears looking for food in Tahoe neighborhoods

It’s that time of year when bears are roaming Lake Tahoe neighborhoods.

Although it’s never a good idea to put trash out before the day it picked up, it’s even more critical now not to so these bruins don’t get hooked on human food.

The anonymous South Lake Tahoe photographer says this bear named Brutus was hit by a car two weeks ago and is now scavenging for food.

    we had a HUGE yogi out in the yard this morning when it was time to take out the trash! he heard the garbage truck down the street and headed off in that direction.

    I don’t think that photo is Brutus, I’ve seen Brutus in my rear view mirror on Hwy 50 by u-haul and he’s the size of a Volkswagon!
