Lake Tahoe News wants to know your opinion

image_pdfimage_print

Lake Tahoe News is about to start a feature to stimulate dialog that goes beyond the comments on stories. There are many issues facing the Lake Tahoe Basin. Some are of regional importance, some are more localized. This is an opportunity for your voice, your ideas to be heard.

The “Tahoe Facts” on the home page is going away and in its place will be a question. The question will probably change on a weekly basis.

If you would like to suggest a question, email it to info@LakeTahoeNews.net. Put “Weekly Question” in the subject line.

As with all comments, please be civil. Stick to the topic. Don’t insult someone personally.

Thank God! Tahoe facts is going away. I awoke many nights quoting Tahoe’s depth, amount of coverage in inches in CA and TX, as well as its ranking among Alpine Lakes.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I hope that the feature will be included on the e-mail version as that’s my usual entree to the News.

As to content, you are right that there are many issues which could be explored. I’m wondering if the format could be fairly open ended, such as “should something be done about X, and if so, what?” rather than a simple yes or no.

I think that you have to be more selective about the e-mails you publish.
My example is Bill Crawford. He is very
bitter that he was not trusted by other
council members to be Mayor. He is hunting for revenge in Gregco, who I have doubts about but he has not done any
thing wrong. Because Crawford is an past council member you do not owe it to us to publish all his mails that are
so citical, he was a school teacher not
    not a business owner

Sounds like a great idea! Might also be a good way for the teachers at STHS and LTCC to get the students interested in community events/issues. People all over the community have ideas, suggestions and concerns. What a great forum for sharing.
