Power out in South Tahoe for 3-plus hours
South Lake Tahoe residents probably woke to flashing alarm clocks Monday morning.
This is because the power was out from 12:08 to 3:29am.
It affected about 24,000 customers.
Liberty Energy officials said the problem started with NV Energy’s Buckeye substation in Carson City. The Buckeye Substation delivers power to two Liberty Energy substations — one at Meyers and the other at Round Hill. Therefore, South Lake Tahoe, Woodfords and Markleeville customers were out of power until NV Energy was able to restore delivery of power to through their Buckeye substation.

way to go Liberty Energy. A whole winter without any major outages, then this.
We have had several outages in Meyers including a series of 9 outages in one week in January. There was also a small outage just last month which lasted for a couple of hours. The best part of these outages is watching the Liberty Energy trucks running around the neighborhood trying to figure out where the problem is. They get out of their trucks, look up at the power lines, scratch their heads, get back into the truck and move on to the next intersection. It reminds me of the Keystone Kops.
Mine was out for only 50 minutes???? Right on!
Sounds like this was and NV Energy problem with Liberty getting all the bad press.
