Broc’s Puppies case progessing slowly
Former Broc’s Puppies owner Dennis Franks‘ pubic defender is challenging the charges being brought against the defendant.
Franks was in court Thursday regarding the nearly 100 charges he faces stemming from operating the South Lake Tahoe store that sold puppies.
The court gave Franks’ attorney until July 14 to file their paperwork, with the district attorney’s office having until Aug. 14 to respond. They are all scheduled to be back in court Sept. 1.

What reputable breeder uses a 3rd party to sell their prized pups? Really? And at a discount, not to interview the prospective buyer?
Many of Broc’s “breeders” were based in the deep South, an area known for puppy mill activity. Many Brocs’ papered puppy owners tried to contact the breeder only to get disconnected numbers (if their pups survived at all).
We have enough backyard breeders…uneducated and naive. Many are unknowingly propagating recessive damaging genes to the future pups. Just look at our favorite breeds today….with increasing eye, joint, cancer and seizure problems.
Take a look at local animal shelters, rescue groups for adoptable animals.
