• Some of the odds for the July American Century Championship Lake Tahoe golf tournament: Charles Barkley 500-1 to win the event, Tony Romo 5-2, John Smoltz 5-1, John Elway 10-1 and Michael Jordan 40-1.
• Still time to signup for a kids’ summer camp through UNR’s Extended Studies.
• “Twelfth Night” will be performed at Sand Harbor July 15-Aug. 21 as part of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
• In July, Charter cable will launch a lease accessed channel on basic digital channel 219 in Glenbrook, Meyers, South Lake Tahoe, Zephyr Cover, El Dorado County and Doulas County. Programming will be provided by Tahoe Network TV from 6am-noon.
• Incline Village General Improvement District hired Charlie Kent as head pro at the Championship Golf Course, and Serena Quarelli as the pro at the tennis center.
• Caltrans’ Tahoe roadwork schedule for the next week has been released.
“U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) in South Lake Tahoe: Work has begun on a $40.6
million project to widen shoulders, construct new sidewalks, add bike lanes, install new
roadside drainage systems and improve signal operations from Trout Creek to Ski Run
Blvd. Completion is expected in 2013.”
2013!!! That’s a long time, but at least it’s getting done ;)
By looking at the great brochure on UNR’s Kids programs for the summer it brings back memories of our own Kid’s College. Too bad the funding is gone as I think we could have grown into the plethora of classes that UNR has.
