What is your favorite memory of one the previous 21 celebrity golf tournaments at Lake Tahoe?
Taking a cell phone picture of my wife with a very gracious Ray Romano last year, finding out later that I did not “save” it on the phone; hope to correct that this year.
Regards
My favorite highlight from the celebrity golf tournament is watching Charles Barkley’s attempts at swinging a golf club. I don’t know if he’s trying to make us “non-athletes” feel better about our golf game, but he’s succeeding!
Having a wayward shot by Bo Jackson fall at the feet at my young daughter. As he walked up to his ball he handed an autographed ball to her with a smile. She was 4 but still remembers it to this day.
Catching a signed golf ball from Mike Eruzione
I have several favorite moments! Last year my daughter and I were walking by the practice green and I turned to my left and at my shoulder, there was Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts. Since my daughter is a HUGE fan I said hi and he talked to her, asked if she was driving yet (is 12), if she liked boys, how she enjoyed living in Lake Tahoe, etc…very charming. His band mates joined him and they all signed her program and she is still talking about that moment!
2007 my son and I worked as volunteers for the Livestrong booth. We met wonderful people working for the organization and my son received a Tony Romo autographed football!
I volunteered one year, and was wearing my volunteer shirt when I was watching Matt Lauer and his group at hole 11 or 12. When they finished at that hole, I started to walk back toward the clubhouse. A few minutes later I realized that the group thought I was going on to the next hole and was following me!
Following Michael Jordan around the course.
What a great guy.
Have not yet had the opportunity to go yet so FREE TICKETS would be great…..hint hint!!
Joking around with Ray Romano as I commented on a nice par hole, and he replied, “what, huh, you talking to me?”
Favorite memory was when my son volunteered to work with the Boys and Girls Club – he got tons of autographs – including Michael Jordan’s, but what I remember most was when Rush Limbaugh signed his t-shirt – my son said “who the heck” was that? I thought that was hilarious!
Anchoring off the 17th hole and watching all the players go by as we bar-b-qued.
