Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom has been named chairman of the committee trying to bring the Winter Olympics back to Lake Tahoe.

The California Winter Games Committee is working with Nevada to have the Tahoe-Reno area host the games in 2022.

California has been a little late to join the effort, having done so just earlier this year. Whereas, Nevada has been in the game for years.

State Sen. Ted Gaines, R-Roseville, is one of several honorary chairmen.

Love the idea of getting the olympics.

Please explain how we get the regulatory agencies to allow the region to widen the roads and move all the dirt and boulders. How do we get the League to not sue and tie this up in court? Where does the money come from to build the infrastructure?

    A real head scratcher.
