Route, fare changes planned for BlueGo

BlueGo bus routes and fares are likely to be tweaked by the Tahoe Transportation District board of trustees at their meeting this morning.

The changes, if approved, would go into effect after Labor Day. One of the big changes is stopping the significant subsidy to the on-call service for the general public. The rate is going to be about triple what it was – to be $10 a ride.

Tokens for the South Shore-based bus system are being eliminated. This will save money in the long run.

Another piece to the streamlining is making the routes in Carson Valley and Carson City function better.

The board meets this morning at 9:30 at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village.
