The body of a scuba diver who went missing on a dive in Lake Tahoe in 1994 has been identified as Donald Christopher Windecker.

A friend diving with Windecker 17 years ago told authorities at the time they were surfacing when Windecker appeared to have equipment problems.

Windecker’s body was found by other divers last month near Rubicon Point.

Windecker, 44, was a planner for Reno
