Fire stations provide ‘safe place’ for area youth

Project Safe Place is a communitywide effort to provide youth in the South Lake Tahoe area with safe haven and crisis intervention services.

All the fire departments in our community are Safe Place locations. This means that kids are able to walk into any fire station, ask for a Safe Place and be connected with an on-call counselor from Tahoe Youth & Family Services.

Safe Place locations are marked by a yellow and black diamond reading “Safe Place”.
