Heart disease is treatable and preventable. It is the leading cause of death in the United States for men and women. Heart disease includes such conditions as congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, heart attack, coronary heart disease and peripheral artery disease.
September is Peripheral Artery Disease Month. According to the American Heart Association, PAD affects about 8 million Americans and becomes more common as people get older.
