Al Tahoe residents going to spend a day sprucing things up

The Al Tahoe neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe is having a clean-up day on Oct. 15 from noon-3pm. Meet at Regan Beach.

This clean-up day event is the result of feedback from a neighborhood service team meeting this summer. The clean-up event is focusing on collecting trash, not large scale items such as furniture.

Trash bags are being provided courtesy of the Caltrans Adopt-a-Highway program.

Participants should put out their filled trash bags in front of their homes for regular trash collection.

The flyer has more information.

Why should Cal-Trans furnish trash bags?
This has nothing to do with Highways!
Bags should come from the City of South Lake Tahoe, South Tahoe Refuse or the
Clean Tahoe Program not Cal-Trans. We need our state highways repaired, wasteing money to clean someones yard
    is a waste!

Cal Trans is a great resource for bags and Clean Tahoe uses them to pick up the trash on our highways and public areas. Cal Trans also provided thousands of bags for the Great Sierra River Cleanup and to the California Coastal Cleanup that was held on September 17th. I think using Cal Trans as a resource for bags makes great sense. Since Cal Trans already has the bags and budgets for them, how does this affect our highways being repaired?
