Eadington: Technology will continue to change gaming

Bill Eadington has taught economics for 42 years at UNR, and along the way he’s become one of the world’s leading authorities on commercial gaming and gambling issues.
On Tuesday in Las Vegas, Eadington will be inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame with a Special Achievement Award for Gaming Education.
Last week, Eadington, 65, sat down with the Reno Gazette-Journal to discuss the uncertainties and challenges gaming and tourism face in the Reno-Sparks market and what the future may hold.
Question: You’ve been in Reno for more than four decades. You’ve seen the trends. Where is the area headed?
Answer: The tourism component of the economy is shrinking and likely will continue to contract. The local casino market will become a locals market, and that’s even more dire for Lake Tahoe as consumers in general are more convenience driven. Look at the last decade with the increase of casinos in California.
Reno and Tahoe casinos are too old, out dated,nothing new in serious entertainment comes spends any time here.
There’s no easy way to get here!(PERIOD)
Jesus, have all you who worked at the casinos in this Town ever took a serious look at the worn out people still standing behind the tables ,serving the drinks,pouring the wine,boxing the games?

People want see beautiful employee’s,perky bodies,perfect teeth,un-pounded females,Chip&Dales Buns,NEW DECORE setting and out this world of being totally loose, they want go home tell the world, how out this world Tahoe was. PROMOTION ,PROMOTION, PROMOTION,Not high prices, parking tickets,police brutality,traffic problems,lack of customer service,Ugly Honkies getting upset cause you didn’t leave a Tip!

Time to drop the nets of time, push some old moldy people aside ,bring in the young ,restless, NEW FACES.
The Internet and gambling, the porn, the goods are all great ,convenience, but nothing takes the place of up close, real and personal humans,being human.There’s only so many things a person can do online compared to the real thing.
What are Rich ,Wealthy, people good for besides taxes and spending?

TONIGHT driving home from the sports bar, I saw people on the streets in costumes, hell they looked better in monster mask than live.
Come on people ,Take off your MASKS and lets see what’s really under the skin ,who’s blowing our success,bring the bodies and cash here, even if you got drive by that place of business that you keep telling the kids is a nasty place to go.
If the Righteous and Angels of society have not seen it on TV or Internet, YOU’RE PRETTY MUCH HOSED IN REAL LIFE ANYWAY!
