North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is planning on conducting a prescribed burn on Oct. 14 depending on proper weather conditions and fuel moisture content.

The 7 acre prescribed burn will be in the upper Apollo subdivision area, off Highway 431.

Smoke resulting from the prescribed burns will affect the surrounding area for approximately 24 to 36 hours. People who are smoke sensitive are advised to stay inside and close their windows and doors as much as possible until the smoke dissipates.
