Opinion: Community support makes the difference
To the community,
Thank you Ed Cook Tree Service, Zephyr Point Presbyterian Center, and Bijou Parents who helped create a wonderful log border (and balance beam) around Bijou’s playground. We could not have created this wonderful play space without the generous donation of logs from Ed Cook, the equipment and tractors from the Zephyr Point Presbyterian Center, and the time and effort of our Bijou Parents (and Rotoract student) who came in 19-degree weather to help out.
I am continuously amazed at the constant community support and dedication to the well-being and education of our children. Thank you all so much. You truly make a difference in the lives of children.
Kathy Haven, Bijou PTA member
As a educator at Bijou Community School I can share that the transformation of our site has been amazing. The numerous agencies and individuals that have come together to improve our landscape and playground share Kathy Haven’s vision of a healthy environment for all of our Bijou students.
Because the majority of our population lives near Bijou, 3501 Spruce Avenue, the fields and play area are used continually by our families.
The generosity of the individuals to make our school better has indeed taken a community effort and leaves me humbled.
Thanks, again, to all those who have and continue to help Bijou to be “Spruced” up. Your efforts are applauded!
