Red Hawk Casino is making progress.

The troubled Shingle Springs casino generated higher revenue and profit during the third quarter, its management company announced this week.

In a conference call with investors Wednesday, executives with Lakes Entertainment Inc. of Minneapolis said customers were responding to marketing changes at Red Hawk, including better deals at the restaurants. The conference call mainly focused on Lakes’ third quarter financial results.

Tim Cope, Lakes’ chief financial officer, said Red Hawk has bounced back from a slump encountered in July 2010, when rival Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln opened a luxury hotel.

“Red Hawk has recovered from that well,” Cope said on the conference call. “They’ve recaptured many of the customers.” Profits and revenue are higher, although the company didn’t release specific numbers.

The casino has struggled since opening in late 2008. Its owners, the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, halted payments earlier this year on a $66 million loan to Lakes.

    The place is Nice!

Wish Harrah’s’, Harvey’s,(Cesar’s) do some decor ,theme changes,it’s the same old looking Stuff.

One thing about Red Hawk is the employees are better looking , no question about that.
THE YOUNGER(PROS CROWD) WITH THE MONEY, WANT PLAY WITH SOMEONE OTHER THAN A PERSON OLD ENOUGH TO BE THEIR GRAND PARENTS.

Unfortunately Prisoner, you are 100% right. It is fun to go to Redhawk and the buffet is exquisite and reasonable. The main entrance overhead has to be seen to believe. Of course, if I didn’t have business in Placerville I would not drive 70 miles just to lose money.

Earl, California could take lots money out Nevada’s casinos pockets by having a football lottery like ORGEON DOES.Bet in about any bar ,grill, that has one, really cool up there in the woods or on the coast, go in have a beer, bet sports, talk to the locals.People up there sure get excited over a dollar tip.
South lake ,they expect 5.00 bucks up!(for nothing)!

I know lots guys who drive very large sums of money up the hill further than 70 miles away just to bet sports.

I like coming down to Hang town, it’s nice down there, small business employees actually look up say hi ,can I help you there, in South Shore your very lucky for them do anything other than see you come in ,sit there on their IPHONES, STORE COMPUTERS, PLAYING GAMES WITH ANOTHER EMPLOYEE, NEVER EVEN ASK YOU IF YOU NEED SOMETHING.I found this even in the city and chambers dept. offices on Customer service.Kinda like you are bothering them to be there.

That entrance way is mind blowing there at Red Hawk, and the view out DOWN stairs of the VALLEY, Great.Nice to see something besides pine trees and rich colors of the surrounding valley.
Maybe see you there sometimes, people are very friendly.Plus you are close to great cases of wine sells in the area for a budget person ,good place to fill up at lower price.
