To the new, improved Lakeview Commons!
Great article yesterday, Kae. ;)
Emerald Bay and the West Shore. Nothing of beauty left on the South Shore anymore.
Wow! Great Question?
First, meet me at Kahle Community Center or the STMS Track for morning workout.
Then off for grub at Lakeside Inn or Red Hut.
Finally I share my world of the community follow me to my South Tahoe Optimist meeting on 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. http://www.tahoeoptimist.com
Enjoy
My top 10:
1. Tallac Historic Site
2. Visitor’s Center and Rainbow Trail
3. Drive around the lake
4. Up the Gondola
5. Emerald Bay, Angora Lake/Falls, Eagle Falls, DL Bliss
6. Shakespeare at Sand Harbor
7. Will now add Lakeview Commons
8. Adding Van Sickle Park for a hike
9. Fallen Leaf Lake and the falls
10. Edgewood Tahoe
Out on the sail boat if it’s not winter, especially to watch the fireworks, if it’s the holiday. Shakespeare, the river and park out at Lake Barron, Red Hut for a slab of ham!, walking out at Tallac site is always relaxing. The Rainbow trail is a must..2 Octobers ago we saw a bear cub in a tree right off the trail.
Great choices above! During summer, I would also add a visit to Echo Lakes – take the boat taxi to the other side, hike to Desolation Wilderness, or hike back to the lodge. During winter, a visit to Hope Valley for XC skiing or snow shoeing. In October, Hwy 88 to Sorenson’s and Markleville for the fall foliage and beautiful landscapes. And the dinner cruise on the SS Dixie is fun & a good value!
Well, it really depends on the season, but my favorite spots include Eagle Rock near Homewood, Sugar Pine Point SP for a stroll around Pine Lodge, Gate keeper’s Museum for a Tahoe City walk and Fanny Bridge, Emerald Bay SP, Paige Meadows (great for wildflowers, mtn, biking, aspen viewing, and snow activities), and a drive up to Barker Pass (if experienced in real off-road-driving try the Lost Breakfast Jeep Trail for some excitement on the way to the top). During the fall a trip to Taylor Creek is always a must.
For those who want to get a little wet, we will float the Lower Truckee River in our own 14′ Sotar Elite rafts (we’re the people who like to take out below River Ranch when the water is high enough).
For good eats we take folks to Fire Sign Cafe for breakfast, Tahoe House for coffee and treats, Jake’s on the Lake, and Zia Lina (these guys have a great “double” happy hour).
the road out of town.
