RAOK: Putting others first
Kindness, is what this month’s promotion on Lake Tahoe News is all about. While it’s called Random Acts of Kindness, it’s also about just being kind.
Lisa Huard is the latest winner. Sierra Athletic Club is letting her workout there for a month. Lisa is being recognized for her generosity toward a friend who is contending with a serious medical condition.
We want to hear about the Random Acts of Kindness you are witnessing, or being a part of either by being the giver or receiver of a RAOK.
Write about as many acts of kindness as you like. The promotion lasts until the end of January.

Thank you! This is certainly a nice surprise. Our community is an incredible one, full of people that watch out for one another. When someone needs something—there are many hands and hearts waiting to help. I’m grateful to live here and to have friends who are “family” here. Go out and make it a good day everyone!
I agree, Lisa. I’m so glad you are being recognized as you do many wonderful things for our community!
Lisa Huard one of my all time favorites in the LTUSD.
Another all time favorite in the LTSUD is Diane Sealy-Moore, who has worked in the Special Ed. Departments of just about every school in town. Her whole career helping children with unique needs is a random act of kindness.
Nice, Lisa!
I’d like to nominate Erin Bechtol, my editorial assistant for Random Acts of Kindness. When I got to work late yesterday, after a terrible morning, there was a strawberry cupcake on my desk. If an unsolicited strawberry cupcake doesn’t make your day better, I don’t know what will. Thanks, Erin!
