PARK CITY — A young University of Utah student died Sunday after a fall from a ski lift at Canyons Ski Resort.
Resort spokesman Steve Pastorino said the woman was on the High Meadow chair lift when she fell at 11:49am. Despite quick ski patrol response and on-board care during a medical flight to an area hospital, the woman was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Pastorino said a prior medical condition may have contributed to the woman’s fall or death.
It’s time that chairlifts have safety bars that are automatically open, close, when in use .
National ordnance, they work just like seat belts.
