Great Ski Race canceled because of conditions

Because of unfriendly winter weather conditions, the Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team has been forced to cancel the Great Ski Race that was scheduled for March 6.

Does anyone know if this has happened before? I am sure it has, but I am guessing it was a long time ago.

Yes, the race was cancelled back in 1991 due to lack of snow.
