Reid, Berkley give up Whittemore campaign donations
By Martha Bellisle, Reno Gazette-Journal
After agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation served subpoenas to former and current employees and associates of Nevada power broker Harvey Whittemore in an investigation into his campaign contribution activities, at least one member of Congress moved to distance himself from the controversy.
Kristen Orthman, a spokeswoman for Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Reid has given up Whittemore contributions.
“Sen. Reid has already donated the contributions made by Mr. Whittemore and his spouse to charity,” Orthman said. “His office will continue to review other contributions associated with Mr. Whittemore, and treat them appropriately.”
Orthman didn’t respond to requests for clarification on when Reid donated the money.
Whittemore did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but his Las Vegas lawyer’s firm released a statement about the FBI subpoenas.
Oh yeah. Like RATS from a sinking ship.
Gee whiz, Saint Harry and Saint Shelley
got caught with their grimy fingers in the cookie jar. Have their halos been revoked?
No Earl, they get to keep the halos. Democrats always do. Look at all the money Obama’s had to give back, the Clintons. . . only Republicans get tarred and feathered for politics as usual.
Democrats acting like republicans… hahahah.
Think !!! The Republican Party, the Teaparty now we have Pelvic Party. Please show the readers some overbearing pride for your presumptive candidate.
I truly enjoy watching the debates and the caucus here and there extravaganza.
Son of a gun!! They have been reminiscent
of Saturday Night Live.
Where did he send the money? Maybe to the solar power people near Tonopah which is run by Pelosi’s relative. I’m sure there was no influence peddled there to get the Feds to fund this commercial venture on government land.
