THIS IS AN ARCHIVE OF LAKE TAHOE NEWS, WHICH WAS OPERATIONAL FROM 2009-2018. IT IS FREELY AVAILABLE FOR RESEARCH. THE WEBSITE IS NO LONGER UPDATED WITH NEW ARTICLES.
I must comment on this incredible example of the lack of connection with the community by the TRPA. Tahoe’s entire economy is going to work today: electricians, plumbers, carpenters, waitresses, waiters, bartenders, teachers, plow drivers, police, firemen, medics, doctors, nurses, clerks, mailmen (and women), cooks, dishwashers, taxi drivers, UPS, Fed Ex, telephone repairmen, power company employees, ski area workers, bureaucrats, writers, real estate folks, bankers, judges, lawyers, delivery people and everyone else in the community. However, because of 6″ of snow (which, by the way is NOTHING) the TRPA can’t handle a “chat”? You have got to be kidding.

Dear Mr. Dumbfounded,
According to Rob Stepien of the Nevada Highway Patrol, there were 50 weather-related auto accidents yesterday on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe alone. Our concern was for public safety. Driving conditions were trecherous. It was a good call.
Joanne’s Fireside Chat has been rescheduled for Monday, March 5th from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences at Sierra Nevada College in Incline.
We hope you can attend.

Thank you for your explanation. However, it underscores the danger that all the folks I mentioned face every day for the citizens of this little community. May God keep them safe while they are out there doing their jobs.
