LTN tidbit 8: Nevada-based reporter is more than a writer
May is 31 tidbits about Lake Tahoe News month.
LTN tidbit No. 8:
Anne Knowles is Lake Tahoe News’ Nevada correspondent, though she is well versed on matters in California as well.
She has been a reporter for more than a quarter century. She covered the high-tech industry for 15 years in Boston and San Francisco for various technology publications including PC Week and Electronic Business before moving to Nevada.
For Lake Tahoe News, Knowles also fills in as editor when the publisher is taking a day or two or week off.
Here is information about becoming a paid subscriber.
Another article about someone who just happens to be female. How many of these can one site publish before they show that they are obviously pandering to one particular sex? Should male readers just go away?
Michael,
I don’t know what you are talking about. But feel free to go away if you have a problem with Lake Tahoe News promoting the various writers on the site.
I didn’t realize the sex of a writer had anything to do with the news.

Ha, ha. OK, but I know that you are much more perceptive than that, Kae. Congratulations to Ms. Knowles.
BTW, quite the contrary, I love your Lake Tahoe News site. And you should promote the people that you feel deserve recognition.
KAE Just another example of the WAR Against Women.Funny how the run when they are called out.
dumbfounded why can’t you be happy with the 10’s of thousands of years of male dominance over everything? Why does gender in new/information/fact matter to you?
You are assuming bias, which actually reveals *your* bias. It would be hilarious except that this type of ignorance is dangerous.
Gosh, and I thought that personal attacks were not going to be tolerated. Just another example of the War on Men, I guess.
Let’s face it men may be suffering severe anxiety attacks over their deminished status. But wait, men only in our univerities, whoops, I guess not as ladies are about 57%. No ladies in Vet schools. Darn it wrong again, they are the big majority. You even see a heck of a lot of them running for senators, governors, and even president and winning quite often. What is this world coming to?
DF: You are assuming bias, which actually reveals *your* bias.
That isn’t a personal attack, that is a logical analysis of your comment, which reveals ignorance. You aren’t being called biased and ignorant, your own thoughts reveal that to be your nature.
I have no idea what Earl’s sarcasm is getting at. 57% percent as a ‘big majority’ is a stretch, especially when taken into historical context.
Can’t handle competition on a level playing field? Too bad, the world has moved on and you have been left behind. Even if you can support the claim of women having a ‘big majority’, they earned it based on merit.
Such compassionate conservatives, the lot of you.
Thing fish maybe you need to eat more fish.
People — time to move on. This was an item about an excellent reporter/writer. To have taken away from that is shameful of you.
Grow up.
