Residential burn permits required
By Cathy Locke, Sacramento Bee
Permits for residential burning are now required within state responsibility areas of Nevada, Yuba, Placer and Sierra counties.
Residents must obtain a valid burn permit and burn only on allowed burn days as determined by their local air district, according to a California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection news release.
In the Truckee area, burning is allowed only during daylight hours to minimize smoke complaints due to nighttime inversions.
