South Tahoe woman located unharmed
Michaela Vandenberg, the South Lake Tahoe woman who went missing Tuesday morning, has been located.
South Lake Tahoe police officers said no foul play was involved in her disappearance. She was not hurt.
Officers are not releasing any more details.

She was loctaed within hours the day that she went “missing”, yet the story about her “mysterious” disappearance published the next morning on the front page. Really?!

You should get your facts right.
The story about her going missing went up shortly after the police sent out the press release — so the same day as the disappearance. This story was posted within minutes of the press release arriving via email.
Everything is posted on the “front page” — that’s what happens in the world of online news.
I’m not really sure what your problem is.
But the important thing is she was found — alive, not hurt.
Maybe you haven’t lived her for long, but we now take missing persons pretty darn seriously. Information is posted as rapidly as possible — and police provide is rapidly.

What a completely unprofessional response. Not that I am at all surprised. How long I have lived in this area is irrelevant. Except for the fact that I have been exposed to professional journalism in other cities, I suppose.
Unlike YOU, I most certainly did “get my facts right.” My “facts” are directly from the source and they are what you call “right”. I know what the press release said. Did you even bother to verify or update the information? Since you take a missing woman report “pretty darn seriously”, why didn’t the fact that she was located the same day warrant a breaking news e-mail alert (and perhaps avoid any public panic or further embarrassment for the young woman)? It seems that a city manager or a city council person vacating their position is the only news item that you deem worthy of a “rapid” e-mail alert.
Don’t try to figure out my problem; figure out YOURS. And try to maintain some semblance of professionalism while you are at it. Stick to the facts (and try some courtesy, too) instead of lashing out at anyone who dares to post a comment on a story that doesn’t suit you. Or, is that a “problem” for you, too?
